The Shtetl of Tsanz

"The Shtetl of Tsanz" is an initiative of a young historian Lukasz Polomski, whose goal is to re-discover the culture and history of Jewish community of Nowy Sacz.

Within the project conferences, workshops and meetings will be organized for young people and adults as well. Through historical education and events connected with Jewish religion the participants will be able to discover the richness of multi-ethnic Sadecczyzna region.

On 04/13/2014 at 5.00 PM in the Beskid Hotel, 1 Limanowskiego st. in Nowy Sacz "PESACH – meeting Jewish holidays" took place, a second meeting of our series.

On 03/16/2014 in the Old Synagogue gallery the first meeting of new series took place: "PURIM – meeting Jewish holidays"

The programme included:

"The roots of Purim holiday" – debate Lukasz Polomski, Artur Franczak

"The secret of Esther" theatre play by the Nomina Rosae Theatre starring: Justyna Stasik, Slawomir Bendykowski, Anna Knybel, Marta Kontny, Krzysztof Krzystanek, Karolina Lisik, Wojciech Michno, Józef Wieclawek.

"Christianity and the Book of Esther" – Fr. Dariusz Chwastek, vicar of the evangelical-augsburg parish in Nowy Sacz and fr. Józef Polak SI, vicar of the Holy Spirit parish in Nowy Sacz
